Biocodex was created in 1953 for the production and marketing of the first drug for the intestinal flora replacement, "Saccharomyces boulardii", available in France under the name ULTRA-LEVURE®.

The range then expanded to include products developed by Biocodex, representing 42% of sales in France (at the end of 2008), and products acquired from other companies, redeveloped by Biocodex.

French operations currently market more than ten products.

Biocodex works in three main therapeutic areas: 

> Gastroenterology, 

where it is the recognized international specialist in drugs for the intestinal flora replacement; 

> Neurology and Psychiatry, 

with an antidepressant, an anxiolytic and an antiepileptic; 

> Pain Treatment, 

with a range of general and local analgesics.
